The perfect way to onboard someone even before they've joined is to take them for an org-wide offsite! 😃
And that's exactly what we did, we took 120 pixels + new hires (who were yet to join) for our offsite.
3 days, 120+ people, unique location & a bunch of activities that united us all!
Safe to say, it was exactly and maybe even better than I had imagined.
A good metric for any event is the organic engagement it gets. Nobody having to force people to join. At ours, we had to manage the crowd! 😅
The sports league, the photowalk, the quiz, the secret performances, the merchandise (Shoutout to 9TO5 ) and of course the DJ night. Everything was on point! 🤩
But the best parts were the after-hours! The endless Mafia games, the bus rides, the jokes & late nights of stories & gossip! 🤫
In distributed teams that grow really fast, offsites act like reminders that we are all working towards the same mission!
